GREAT INJUSTICE-Hillary Clinton, the flawed candidate
On October 28, 2016 the FBI announced the decision to continue Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s Email investigation based on new emails found on top aid Huma Abedin’s computer while probing her husband former Rep Anthony wiener unrelated sexting case. FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to congress advising them of his decision to look through another 650,000 emails found on the Abedin/Wiener hard drive.
As reported by the Associated Press Clinton reacted by saying “Let’s get it out; the American people deserve to get the full and complete facts immediately”. Further asking of the FBI Director to “explain this issue in question, whatever it is, without any delay.”
In July when Director Comey announced no charges would be filed against SOS Clinton, the Democrats were elated, describing the Director as “principled” “most impartial” praising him for a job well done since the findings were to their favor. However with this new development, all bets are off. The FBI has now infuriated the Democrats to the delight of the Republicans. The acrimony with which the Democrats are now opposing the Director’s decision to reopen the email case is startling. All who previously commended his impartiality are now turning on him as their worst adversary.
The obvious relevance of this decision comes as Americans head to the voting polls to make their final choice, the fear being this news could sway the election one way or the other.
While I think Director Comey has an obligation to follow up with any new information pertinent to any case in the capacity of doing his job, however I think there is a greater injustice committed to those who identify themselves as Democrats by their own party leaders. In their insatiable fervor to make history once again by electing the first woman president, I think the DNC made a huge mistake in rushing to endorse the flawed candidacy of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, which might now cost them the election as well earn the protestation of the people. Now Democratic voters have been placed in an obligatory position to vote for someone that even if elected might continue to have other investigations overshadow the administration.
I love the two party election system, this is why I feel offended for my democratic counterparts that are now suffering as a result of DNC negligence, stripping them of a viable candidate to vote for. As a Republican I know this presents a better chance for my candidate, but as an American I am not happy for the lost opportunity of other honest, hard working voters that might decide not to vote feeling robbed of their constitutional right. I think the DNC leadership owes their constituents an apology. If they lose they have no one to thank but themselves for their ambitious overreaching desire to put the first woman in the Oval office.
Two mistakes were made by each side Hillary Clinton and DNC:
Hillary Clinton put her personal aspirations before her party and when the water got muddied with more investigations, she should have stepped aside early enough to give another candidate the opportunity, sparing the current voter anxiety.
On the DNC side, the initial mistake was not considering the already known negative factors would become imminent at the last minute when usually pressure from both campaigns mounts, like Benghazi, Emails, her low favorability, her husband’s past sex scandal cases. Many warning signs were ignored and dismissed.
This is not to say all is well with the RNC. This is where we can unify to come together because as a conservative Republican I have also been disappointed in my own party. Both parties have strayed from their original policies and guiding principles that have frustrated the constituents from both sides of the aisle.
This is why; even when he is not a polished, perfect politician, Mr. Donald Trump has managed to become a phenomenon.
“We the people” on both sides of the party line, have suffered equally not being represented as we should. This is why I hope when this election is over; we can come together as Americans, one Nation under God.
